FOREMOST ANNUAL GATHERING OF INDIAN BUSINESS LEADERS TO TAKE PLACE AT INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL FOR BUSINESS

22 October 2013 - HORASIS announces its next Annual Global India Business Meeting, to be held in the city of Liverpool on 22-23 June 2014. This summit will take place as an integral part of the International Festival for Business, Britain’s biggest global business showcase taking place throughout June and July 2014.

The high profile event will bring together over 300 senior decision makers from the worlds of business and politics from India and beyond, to discuss a wide range of issues directly related to the Indian economy.

Indian business leaders will congregate for a two-day conference with international partners. This year’s India Business Meeting is part of a series of global business events being held in Liverpool to celebrate entrepreneurship and economic growth as part of the International Festival for Business. The meeting will focus on emerging markets, with particular focus on the economic growth of India.

Attendees at this year’s Global India Business Meeting included Dr Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Lord Bilimoria, Chairman, Cobra Beer Partnership, Ashish Chauhan, Chief Executive Officer, Bombay Stock Exchange, Gaurav Dalmia, Chairman, Landmark Holdings, and D.K. Jain, Chairman & President, Luxor Group, and Subodh Bhargava, Chairman, Tata Communications.

Comprising more than 100 world-class events, IFB will incorporate all areas of commerce that are transforming the business landscape of Britain and beyond. Key sectors will include: manufacturing, science & technology; maritime, logistics & energy; knowledge, professional & financial services; higher & further education & research; low carbon & renewables; cities, enterprise & urban business; knowledge, creative & digital.

Running for 50 days during June and July next year, the Festival will form a key part of the Government’s ambition to rebalance the economy and double British exports by 2020. It is expected to bring more than £100m of new foreign direct investment to Britain.

Dr Frank-Jürgen Richter, Chairman, Horasis, said: 'The Global India Business Meeting is the foremost annual gathering of Indian business leaders and their global counterparts. Informed by the outcomes of the national elections, the meeting will engage participants to provide a holistic and timely perspective on the future direction for India. Taking place as part of the International Festival for Business, the event will help define India’s international growth agenda, using the UK as a springboard for new business deals.'

Max Steinberg CBE, Chair of IFB 2014, said: 'The Global India Business Meeting will provide a unique opportunity for British business to forge important and lasting connections with a key global partner. India is a major UK export market and the Horasis meeting will be a pivotal event to discuss how the trade and export relationship between the two countries can evolve. We look forward to welcoming some of India’s most prominent business leaders to Liverpool next year.'

With the UK aiming to increase its trade links with India, IFB2014 will enable the relationship to grow, further boosting these already strong bilateral ties. The Festival will also provide the opportunity for small businesses to enter the Indian market, paving the way for the development of new global business relationships.

Horasis is committed to enacting visions for a sustainable future through the active participation of global business leaders in series of annual meetings. In addition to the Global India Business Meeting, Horasis holds meetings in China, Russia and the Arab world.
