CHENNAI, India: The second Horasis Global India Business Meeting to be held in Spanish capital Madrid next year will have a Tamil Nadu flavour.
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is planning to invite Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin to the function.
Around 300 Chief Executive Officers from across the globe will attend the two-day meeting, scheduled to begin on June 21.
“This time the focus of the forum will be Tamil Nadu for its open policy and industry-friendly measures. The State is also emerging as a medical tourism hub. It is investment-friendly also as there is no labour unrest here,” said Horasis president Dr Frank-Jürgen Richter, who is interacting with top companies in Tamil Nadu to secure their participation.
“Chennai can be the Milano or Barcelona of India. It can host big fashion shows and transform into a place where global creative and IT industries can start their business,” said the president of Horasis, an international organization on globalisation and Asian business based in Geneva. The forum showcased neighbouring Karnataka during its first three-day Global Business Meeting in Munich in June this year.
The forum, hosted by FICCI along with Casa Asia, Spanish Government, the Municipality of Madrid, Promo Madrid, the Spain-India Business Council and Horasis, is considered as the foremost annual gathering of Indian business leaders. The focus of the meeting this year would be on logistics sector.
