The 2011 Global India Business Meeting was held in Naples, 26-27 June 2011. This Horasis meeting was co-hosted by The Region of Campania, Campania Innovazione, the Naples Chamber of Commerce and FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry). Over 300 leaders met under the theme "Globalizing Indian Firms". The theme reflected the increased emphasis of Indian firms to build global and sustainable brands. The third Horasis Meeting on India - earlier editions were held in Munich and Madrid - came at a crucial time for India - participants discussed collaborative approaches to addressing sustainable growth. In his welcoming speech, N.K. Singh, Member of Parliament, India, set the tone for the Global India Business Meeting by pitching India as a global leader in the next wave of globalization. N.K. Singh said that any economic activity, including globalisation, should be directed at improving the human condition. ‘Our objective is to further strengthen our relationship with the Indian economy,’ said Vincenzo Scotti, Secretary of State, Italy, during the welcome dinner. 'We are confident to overcome the European debt crisis and to engage in trade with India and other high growth economies.'
