'Thriving on Risk'
 

Horasis held the third Horasis Annual Meeting in Zurich, 24-25 January, 2012. The meeting's purpose was to advance solutions to the most critical challenges facing corporations today. The Horasis Annual Meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officers, government officials, and thought leaders that share a common interest in shaping and rebuilding our global economies.

The theme of the 2012 Horasis Annual Meeting was 'Thriving on Risk'. Participants engaged in a thorough discussion on how to surviving in and making sense of the new era of risk as the periods ahead are going to be challenging and tumultuous. Please download the report and visit the photo gallery.

In a special plenary, Valdis Dombrovskis, Prime Minister of Latvia, talked about the country´s experience of dealing with severe economic crises. 'These years of crises have not been easy for us, but together we managed things so that Latvia is exiting the crisis with a far more balanced economy, public administration and public finances,' he said. Mustapa Mohamed, Minister for International Trade and Industry, Malaysia, said that 'the Euro debt crisis in Europe and the recession in the US are the main worry for global markets, and Malaysia, being a trading nation, is no exception. Kris Peeters, Minister-President of Flanders, Belgium, talked about the economic competitiveness of Flanders.

At the Horasis Annual Meeting, participants summarize the previous year in the world and monitor the trends from the past. Also, they make forecasts for the upcoming 11 months and propose appropriate novel actions evaluating their effectiveness into the New Year. The questions they ask are: What should be at the top of the agenda for the New Year? And which issues do businesses and governments need to deal with urgently?
